MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION: MAID

Make An Informed Decision: MAID

It's not impossible.

GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE

No, it is not impossible to make an informed decision. This ultimately means that you need to put in work in your decision making. There are all types of influences that can sway our decisions to the left or to the right; but at the end of the day, it is your decision.
Everyday on this earth, I learn something new about people; how they perceive ideas and convey them to others. Everyone is different. Sometimes, we rally for the same cause and sometimes we are on opposite sides of the fence. If you are not informed, then you are doomed to just be ignorant or unaware.
I am hoping that I can help you to MAID: make an informed decision. In order to MAID (and yes, it does involve cleaning up), there are some things that you might want to start using moving forward:

MAKING AN INFORMED DECISION INVOLVES:

  • Examining the facts period. Know about the issue at hand. Know the background. Whether it is about a person, place, thing, scenario...don't pass judgement first. When you don't know, you are misinformed. Misguided or misinformed means that decisions are made with an UH-OH mentality once everything hits the fan. Know better. Do better!
  • Don't allow your emotions to get involved. Emotions can get the best of you especially in the heat of the moment. Try breathing first and then thinking rationally. I know that it may sound harsh, but reality is, we want the facts, only the facts. For example 2+2=4. FACT! I don't feel that it should be 4 today and not tomorrow, it is 4 hands down and bottom line.
  • Question everything! Sure, this can be annoying and it can get on your own nerves, but wouldn't you rather have the correct information at your finger tips instead of guess-timates? You don't want to go and retrace your steps because you were unsure of something right? Blunders cost time, money and effort. All three will be lost if a RE-DO/DO OVER has to take place.
  • Decision is based on what exactly? Check and recheck. There may come a time when you think or believe to have the right answer but things change. Change is inevitable. The tide has changed it's course now what? Be versatile. Make sure your judgement takes into account any changes that are made on the way.
  • Be patient at being patient! I can not stress this enough. Breathing through and having patience tend to go hand in hand. Be kind and do both (breathe and be patient) simultaneously. Your mind can tend to run rapidly especially when you are anxious and your decision is pending. Take time and go back to the first line.
Sunshine, this is only a guideline or suggestion as to how you should make your decisions. Expand your horizons and not to be so closed minded once a decision involves you. At the end of the day, it does matter and making an informed decision is the best choice. You will be happy you did.
